About the Artist

Sophia Stout is a musician, songwriter and artist. By first finding her love of art through music, Sophia has been both casually and professionally exploring other types of media, such as video editing and digital art. As an independent musician, she understands the importance of being able to market yourself. Therefore, Sophia focuses a lot on developing her brand and aesthetic via social media, fliers, album covers, music videos and more. She finds this part of the process to be just as enjoyable as making and recording music and hopes to create a side career out of creating art in order to promote small, diverse artists, such as herself. This idea excites her so much that she has already been making content for other organizations. Her past experiences include being an editor for Sciall, a diverse science channel with over 13k subscribers on Youtube, a marketing intern for Ensemble Charite, a local charity ensemble and a student assistant for CU Pride. All of these places have allowed her to expand her creativity and knowledge in both business and art, a combined field that is constantly growing. In addition to this, Sophia has a passion for supporting diverse and non-profit groups. With this, she strongly believes that art can be a powerful tool for activism and social change. This is probably the biggest driving factor regarding what she wants to do after college. For now, she is gaining as much insight about digital design, media and music as possible in order to hit the ground running.
