Overall, I was pretty proud of my zine about the History of Punk Rock in Bloomington, IN. In the beginning, I believed that I was over ambitious with my idea, because I underestimated how much digging and research I would have to do in order to find enough material for each chronological year and to have that material locally sourced (produced in Bloomington). Thankfully, I did find enough. I think a factor that helped me with this was broadening my definition of punk and including other cultural influences, such as zines and protests.

Although, this process still took me more time than I was expecting. Additionally, I wanted it to be a 14 page zine, with the last two pages having a list of songs and Spotify QR codes from the artists that were referenced, but I did not have time to include that. I also think I did not structure my process that well, as I spent the majority of time on the first three pages, which then led me to rush the last pages. I think this shows in my quality of work, since the first few pages have the most detail and effort, whereas the last pages could have better planning and blending. Despite the rush, I like how the pressure forced me to be more creative with my ideas. In my effort, I made slightly sloppier, but more unique pages. I have already gone back and fixed many of these issues, because I hope to bring my product to a zine fest in Bloomington. This particular zine fest hasn’t happened since 2019. I think my idea is local and interesting enough to hand out to others, especially since I am a local Bloomington musician.
